Visit follows workers’ vote against unionization
White House press secretary Sean Spicer confirmed plans for the president’s Friday to visit South Carolina during Tuesday’s press briefing.
North Charleston is the only site in the world that produces the 787-10 Dreamliner, which entered final assembly late last year. Boeing has already secured 149 orders for the model, which will begin flight testing this year and is expected to be delivered to customers in 2018.
The rollout comes after Boeing workers voted against unionization on Wednesday.
Trump has previously criticized Boeing for its plans to build a plant in China and the estimated costs for Boeing’s Air Force One jets.
