SC Aerospace is headed to the Paris Air Show!

We are packing our bags and preparing to jet off to Paris to represent South Carolina at the International Paris Air Show!

This year’s show will feature 2,115 international exhibitors, 139,000 trade visitors, 130,000 sq. meters of exhibition area and 150 aircraft performing flying displays and exhibitions. Presentations and exhibitions will cover topics spanning the aerospace and aviation industry, from airport equipment to aircraft materials to space, satellites and telecommunications.

Corporate representatives of the state’s aerospace cluster are carefully chosen from South Carolina’s more than 400 aerospace companies. SC Aerospace helped SCDOC’s International Strategy and Trade Division throughout the selection process by marketing the opportunity to the cluster and providing subject matter expertise to target several companies that should be included in the SC Pavilion.

South Carolina’s 2017 delegation will include representatives from four locally-based companies: TIGHITCO (North Charleston), FSC Cutting Tools (Greenville), Innegra Technologies (Greenville) and Zeus (Orangeburg). These companies will have the opportunity to conduct meetings with companies from all over the world to discuss the services they provide and new business opportunities.

Each of these four companies exemplifies some of the aerospace major assets within South Carolina. As a whole, the group presents a well-rounded look at the SC Aerospace cluster, both in product range and in geographic diversity within the state.

Zeus Industrial Products is a global leader in advanced extrusions, delivering polymer solutions for various industries including aerospace, medical, energy, automotive, and more.  Zeus located in Orangeburg, SC in 1982, and obtained AS9100 certification in 2009, enabling them to increase its presence in the aerospace industry. Today, Zeus operates a total of nine facilities located in the US, Europe, and Asia with 1,300 employees worldwide.

TIGHITCO, a subsidiary of The InterTech Group, is an industry leader in design, fabrication, and assembly of engineered components for aerospace and industrial applications. TIGHITCO has six locations throughout North America. Their North Charleston location is home to TIGHITCO’s Aerostructures Division – which includes complex composite structures and assembly, autoclave, bonded panels, and light machining.

Innegra Technologies, headquartered in Greenville, South Carolina, is an advanced materials company that delivers innovative high performance fibers which improve the performance of composite and textile applications, and can be converted into many different reinforcements.

Five Star Carbide (FSC) Cutting Tools, also located in Greenville, SC, manufactures custom cutting tools for composite materials. Their patented Graphinator is the ultimate drilling reamer for composite materials.  FSC also produces a variety of standard cutting tools for CNC applications.
